Quanta Chairman Barry Lam has reportedly revealed that the company is working on the next generation Apple Watch.
Lam added that the smartwatch market is expected to grow and mature, and that the next generation Apple Watch will perform better than the original.
Following his statements rumors in the Chinese media have predicted that the Apple Watch 2 will hit shelves at the end of Q2 2016. Allegedly a small batch will be delivered in late Q2 with volume shipments starting in Q3 2016.
I think Mukai does have a point here, but it's not garbage. It's just start up of an innovation planned to grow. I call them collectibles :D. All those 1st gens I own and are in my bookshelf display, well except for Macs of course.
There were some Apple Watch articles where he didn't say "garbage" because he knew it has some potential with tricks other than accessories. No really.
The first one is perfect enough for me. I understand it's the first generation and how it won't be good the first time, but for me it does what people would expect it to do. It's not garbage and those news sites that review it prove the quality it is and how not garbage it is even if it means running OSX on it despite small screen. Just a bonus I would like to mention I still own the first iPad and that still does good to me since launch day.
How is this a surprise? They release everything extremely important around 11-13 months after the last one. That's how you keep momentum on a product. So this article is saying " a new watch will be released next year" no shit.
This is very exciting and sad news at the same time. I mean its Apple's trend since long time ago that hey screw up with their first gen and make the second version super efficient. I been using my Apple Watch for quite some time now, and there were so many problems that i wish they could fix it in second one. Especially the charging rate. Its a small watch with tiny battery. They should get rid of fancy wireless charging(technically its not even wireless. More like magnet) and make it fully charge within 15-30min instead of 3 hours.
Youre right ... In that case do like me and stop bought first gen product !! Thats exactly why I didnt buy the gen 1 Apple Watch ... Im waiting the 2th version and see if it will be better ! The battery life sucks and was a major problem on the first gen !
I happen to like the first Apple Watch and may even keep it. I was lucky to own an AMPY because it's a kinetic charger which uses movement to charge any device plugged in with it. This means I used it with my Apple Watch and had infinite battery wherever I went. With that said, it blows wireless charging out of this dimension and how totally wrong you are.
Did I forget to mention I meant infinite by just moving it regardless of wearing the watch? The charging comes from you. No solar, no outlets, no electricity needed to store energy in which my theory is withiut a doubt true. So what if you do have to take the watch off? What does that have to do with what I covered and summed up? That's like saying "I have I take my phone out of my pocket to charge which in no way but will flat out say the infinite battery is false". What if you just left the charger plugged IN for all eternity? In fact just wait until there exists a charger for the watch with a heart rate sensor on the other side. Still peoving you false until then!
Huge downside to the original is the distance from your phone and the watch. You basically need to have the phone on you at all times and that kind of sucks.
Although there are many things i dont like about 1st gen Apple Watch, connectivity is perfectly fine imo. Bluetooth connection on-the-go, and WiFi connection under WiFi network works fairly well in terms of convenience and battery usage. Ever since i used Apple Watch, i didnt have to worry about looking for my phone in the morning :p
