Apple Reportedly Has a Secret Car Lab in Berlin, May Partner With Magna for Production

Apple is reportedly running a secret lab in Berlin to design and develop the rumored Apple Car, reports FAZ.net. Sources tell the site there are now concrete plans for the introduction of the vehicle.

As the FAZ has now learned from informed sources, Apple is running a secret laboratory for the development of an automobile - and this in the middle of Berlin. In addition, there should be concrete plans when and how the iCar is introduced on the German market.


Back in September, the WSJ reported that Apple upgraded its electric car to a 'committed project' giving it a target ship date of 2019. There have also been many reports that the company is running a top secret automotive testing facility in Sunnyvale.

Many have questioned how Apple might manufacturer a vehicle given its inexperience in this area. FAZ sources say the company will enlist Magna, an auto parts maker in Austria, as a production partner. Magna is said to be the largest contract manufacturer of automobiles worldwide.
