Because Android 2.0 on some of the hot new hardware starting to come out or be announced is the first serious threat to the iPhone since the iPhone came out in 2007.

Pictures like this are pretty uninteresting; you can't tell much from them. I'd need to see a video of the OS in action to be impressed with Android 2.0 on whatever phone it's running on.
