Google may partner with iLike and LaLa for a new music service to be announced Wednesday, October 28, 2009.
TechCrunch reports receiving an invitation to a Hollywood event next week host by LaLa, iLike & "Others. Their sources indicate that the "Others" includes Google. The event will announce a new music service backed by all four major music labels.
The new service will apparently be integrated into Google search. Users will be able to stream songs, get relative information, and purchase tracks for download.
TechCrunch has also obtained some screenshots that were reportedly sent to rights holders and potential partners.
At this point it seems clear that the competition between Google and Apple is just getting started. Maybe Apple should have approved Google Voice.
