"Our parent has terminated talks with Apple over the iPhone," a China Mobile spokeswoman said, confirming several unsourced Internet reports.
Lei would not elaborate but did say that China Mobile had not ruled out reviving talks at some point, if necessary.
Apples plans for the future are unclear and they refuse to comment on the announcement. China Mobile has 350 million subscribers which is more than the whole US population.
