The BoyGeniusReport has published a preview of the upcoming Motorola Droid handset.
The phone features a 550MHz Texas Instruments OMAP3430 processor, separate PowerVR GPU, 256MB of RAM, CDMA Rev A., Wi-Fi, GPS, a digital magnetometer, accelerometer, proximity sensors, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, notification LED, four touch-sensitive navigation buttons, a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, 3.5mm headset jack, and microUSB port.
BGR declares the phone a great success; however, they do comment that it still doesn't compete with the iPhone.
The Droid isnt an iPhone competitor because nothing at this point in time is an iPhone competitor besides the new iPhone. And things dont have to be right now. Everyone can eat. So will the Motorola Droid be successful? Absolutely, we think. It will eat in to BlackBerry sales, Windows Mobile sales, and positively murder any lingering Palm Pre sales. Its that good.
I can't wait to get my hands on it and enjoy freedom again. I had Motorola before the iPhone, and there will be Motorola again. They never told me what to do, what's right or wrong. They simply sold me a phone and left me alone. Maybe MotoX is still around somwhere ...
I agree with you, I really laght about the person who wrote this article. "there is no iPhone competitor he said" he is just another apple fanboy. There are obvious many great features the Motorola Droid has that the iPhone lacks plus the freedom to do whatever you want with your phone made the Droid 1,000 times better than the iPhone 3gs.
The iPhone 3g is the sluggish and unstable phone ever.
