Everybody here is commenting that's it's a waste of money. While I agree a functional phone would be a waste of a money, it's possible this device was broken beyond repair.

Why not just throw several hundred dollars into the cauldron and skip the phone altogether. A total waste unless the phone is broken beyond repair to begin with.
