CNet UK has written an article concluding that the iPhone is the worst phone in the world.

That's right, we said it -- and we're not taking it back. The iPhone may be the greatest handheld surfing device ever to rock the mobile Web, and a fabulous media player to boot. It may be the highest-rated mobile phone on CNET UK, rocking the pockets of half of our crack editorial team. It's certainly the touchscreen face that launched a thousand apps. But as an actual call-making phone, it's rubbish, and we aim to prove it.

The article praises the iPhone for being the best handheld computer there is; however, goes on to describe how it fails when it comes to call quality, dropped calls and data gaps, receiving calls, heat, and battery life.

Many of these same criticisms have been leveled against the iPhone in American although its usually AT&T that takes the blame.

Interestingly the article mentions a report in Ny Teknik that claims the most likely cause of the 3G problems is defective adjustments between the antenna and an amplifier that captures very weak signals from it. Apparently, this could cause the 3G connectivity issues and slow data speeds.

Perhaps AT&T isn't completely to blame?

Lol, as far as the network problems I am 100% sure it is AT&T fault! This is because I live in The Netherlands and use Vodafone for provider. Now let me tell you I get amazing G3 speeds, up to 2Mb (Megabyte!) per second!! The only area's I get dropped connections is far down in the woods, well i can live with that ;) further my battery is fine so I don't know what the ** the are talking about ;)

The worst phone? definitely not.. But it sure as hell isn't the best phone either. I think the problem with the iPhone is that it tries to do TOO much. Does a person really need thier phone to double up as a gaming device?

Jay, why are you such a douche-bag? Of course they come out with new phones every year, that's a VERY GOOD observation, BUD! I hope you caught the sarcasm in that.. I was just pointing out that the guy is obviously attached to his iPhone, and that apple puts out a new and improved one every year for guys like him. I'm sorry if that was too hard for you to grasp.. Of all the stupid comments you've made so far, perhaps you should consider changing your nickname to start fresh and avoid any further embarassment.
