Google has updated its Allo messaging app with several improvements including Incognito mode for group conversations, improved notification settings, link preview, and more.
Introducing Google Allo, a smart messaging app that helps you say more and do more. Express yourself better with stickers, Smart Reply, and HUGE emojis & text. Allo brings you the Google Assistant.
Google's Amit Fulay announced the changes on Twitter:
New features in #GoogleAllo rolling out today! Chat backup/restore, incognito mode for groups and link preview
An update is already available from the App Store.
What's New In This Version: • Notification settings: Go to one place to manage your notifications. Choose the ones you want, and turn off the ones you don't want to see. • Incognito chats: Now available for your group conversations. • Bug fixes: Performance improvements for a better chatting experience.
You can download Google Allo from the App Store for free.
It's upsetting that Apple will not bring over iMessage and FaceTime to the Android platform. I have lots of friends and family that use Android based devices. If they're so about connecting people together then that's a missed opportunity.
