Tablo DUAL is a new DVR for cord cutters that lets you record up to two channels of OTA TV and stream to all your iOS and tvOS devices.

The first networked OTA DVR to include onboard recording storage, Tablo DUAL makes it even easier for cord cutters to discover, record and stream live broadcast programs from their HDTV antenna, right out of the box.

Tablo DUAL has 64GB of onboard HD recording (approx 40 hours) and supports adding a USB hard drive to boost recording capacity up to 8TB. The device uses Ethernet or Wi-Fi to connect to your home network making it easy to deliver live or recording programs to any of your devices.

To access a stream or recording on your Tablo, the company has released apps for:
● iOS/Android smartphones and tablets
● PC/MAC computers
● Streaming media devices including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Chromecast
● Gaming systems including Xbox and Nvidia Shield
● Smart TVs including Roku, Android, and LG WebOS 2.0 & 3.0

Pricing and Availability
Tablo DUAL will be available starting on June 4, 2017 in the US at an MSRP of $249.99 USD exclusively at select Best Buy retail stores or online at www.BestBuy.com and in Canada, direct from Tablo (www.TabloTV.com) at an MSRP of $329.99 CAD.

Tablo DUAL includes a free 30-day trial of Tablo’s optional TV guide data subscription which provides episode and series synopses, cover art and metadata for programs airing over the next two weeks, as well as access to advanced features like one-touch series recording and out-of-home streaming via Tablo Connect. Once the free trial is complete, users can choose a subscription starting at $4.99 USD/$5.99 CAD monthly, $49.99 USD/$59.99 CAD annually, or $149.99 USD/$179.99 CAD for a lifetime subscription.

Tivo's Roamio OTA does all this with 1 TB built-in storage and support for additional storage, but has no subscription cost! (And yes, even with 16x the storage, it's cheaper after adding a lifetime subscription from Tablo.). Not sure I see the value here...

But I can stream Tablo to any Roku/Fire/Xbox via an app.

The value is that you can stream all your DVR'd content to any phone, tablet, firestick, roku, etc. Essentially makes it available anywhere. Whereas with Tivo, you are tied to the TV that it's plugged into, unless you pay for Tivo's streaming service, which now makes it much more expensive.
