Apple Pay Cash is Now Live

Apple Pay Cash is Now Live

Posted December 4, 2017 at 5:23pm by iClarified
Apple has started rolling out Apple Pay Cash to iOS 11.2 users in the United States.

Now you can use Apple Pay to pay and get paid right in Messages, or by asking Siri. There’s no app to download, and you can use the cards you already have in Wallet. Send money for books to your son in college. Split a bill. Pay a babysitter. Send and receive from across the table — or across the country. Instantly.

What You Need:
To send and receive money with Apple Pay, you must be at least 18 years old and you must live in the United States. You also need these things:

● A compatible device with iOS 11.2 or later.
● Two-factor authentication for your Apple ID. Make sure that you sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID on any device that you want to use to send or receive money.
● An eligible credit or debit card in Wallet, so you can send money. Learn how to add a card.

To Send Money in Messages:
● In Messages, start a new conversation or tap an existing one.
● Tap , then tap Apple Pay icon.
● To select an amount, tap Minus icon or Plus icon. To enter an exact amount, tap Show Keypad.
● Tap Pay. If you want to, add a message to go with the payment.
● Tap Send icon. Then review the payment information or cancel. Your money in Apple Pay Cash will be used to pay first. Learn how a payment method is chosen.
● To send the payment, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.

How to Request Money in Messages:
● Open a conversation in Messages.
● Tap , then tap Apple Pay.
● Choose an amount, then tap Request. If you want to, add a message to go with the request.
● To send, tap the Send icon.

When someone sends you money, it's automatically received and securely kept in Apple Pay Cash. You can use the money right away to send to someone or spend with Apple Pay in stores, within apps, and on the web, or you can transfer to your bank account.

The first time that you use Apple Pay Cash, you have seven days to accept the money that you have been sent. After you accept the terms and conditions, payments are automatically accepted and added to Apple Pay Cash.

Apple should release watchOS 4.2 this week which will also bring support for Apple Pay Cash. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

I don't understand... I don't see Apple Pay Cash as an option... does the article mean to say that it is being rolled out incrementally? I thought it came automatically with 11.2.

I don’t see it either. I think it’s still in beta. Maybe if I reboot the phone....

Rebooting the phone brings the option in Wallet but it seems to be timing out when trying to activate.
