If Apple genuinely wants to attract laptop users to the iPad then they need to make iOS a real operating system. The fact is, that’s not their real goal. The real goal is control of your digital assets like music, video etc... Obviously.

I use public transportation where sometimes bags get squished due to the cramped space. Things can break in many ways, and it’s concerning to pay more than 1000$ for something with structural integrity issues. Please, tell us more.
