The Apple News app is crashing for many users following the launch of Apple News+ and iOS 12.2. The crash appears to affect iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
Developer Steve Troughton-Smith believes the problem is due to data that was pushed to clients and suggests that it may be something that can be fixed remotely.
Why is Apple News crashing today? Why, bad data pushed to the client, of course. Should be something they can fix remotely

“Pushing data on users”? Clearly Apple is dumping high-res ads, possibly containing all sorts of hidden coding doing God knows what, insisting that users subscribe to the new subscription service and surrender their current free service.
To tell the truth, I might sign up, not to avoid ads, but if it allowed me to stop bogus and unreliable news from specific sites, which the free service has never allowed without canceling just about every secondary source (like Apple news outlets).
