Oppo has premiered its solution for an under-screen camera at Mobile World Congress 2019 in Shanghai.
OPPO's brand new solution for full-screen display - Under-screen Camera (USC) has just been unveiled here at #MWC19 Shanghai!
Utilizing a customized camera module, an enhanced translucent panel material, and advanced processing algorithms, Oppo says it's able to take vivid pictures without a notch or motorized camera.
Engadget was able to try out the new camera and notes that when you look up close, the area above the lens appears to be more pixelated. To capture photos through the custom panel, Oppo used a larger sensor with bigger pixels and a larger aperture to capture as much light as possible.
"This does mean a drop in resolution, and based on our quick comparison, there's certainly room for improvement in terms of clarity and color accuracy."
Oppo says the technology will be added to a production smartphone "in the near future". Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

I still have an iPhone 8 Plus, I hate the full screen of the iPhone X, I don’t need every part of the phone to be an lcd, nothing wrong with haveing a home button and ear speaker and camera.
