Apple's rumored new 16-inch MacBook Pro will feature an ultra-narrow bezel and launch in September, according to a new DigiTimes report.
Apple is set to release in September 2019 new MacBook Pro featuring ultra-narrow bezel to accommodate a 16-inch screen, expanded from the original 15-inch one.
DigiTimes' timeframe for release suggests that Apple will unveil the new MacBook alongside its next generation iPhones. Other reports have predicted that Apple will hold a second press event, perhaps in October, to launch the device.
It's believed that Apple will use a 3072x1920 LCD display from LG for the new MacBook rather than making the switch to OLED. The notebook is also rumored to be the first Apple laptop to use a new scissor mechanism for the keyboard.
UDN predicts that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will the most expensive Apple notebook ever costing around $3000 to $14,500.
Sincerely hope that this Pro doesn't destroy its LCD screen when closing the lid, whilst the slightest little crumb is in the hinge. A very poor design for the once great Apple Company. Not to mention the disasters with the keyboard, LCD and some more issues with the flagship MacBook Pro.
The key phrase is “starts at $3,000”. As usual, the base model is barely functional with little memory, a trivial amount of storage, and likely substandard graphics (even if ALL you’re doing is ‘browsing the web’). More significantly, though, they’re releasing this knowing that it’s hamstrung (OLED) so you’ll need to upgrade after only a year.
