Apple has started a recycling program which offers free and environmentally friendly disposal of your iPod and cell phone with no purchase necessary.

Free iPod and Cell Phone Recycling
Apple’s commitment to responsible environmental citizenship includes ensuring that an iPod is properly disposed of at the end of its useful life. The recycling program covers your iPod or any cell phone — regardless of the manufacturer or model. Apple’s recycling program makes it easy for you to help protect the environment.

To recycle your iPod or Cell Phone:
Visit the iPod and cell phone recycle page and select the quantity that you want to recycle. Fill in the form with your name and address to receive a prepaid mailing label. Print the mailing label and attach to your packaging. Then mail it out!
