Telegram Plans to Launch Secure Group Video Calling This Year

Telegram has announced that it's focused on bringing secure group video calling to its Telegram Messenger app in 2020.

The current global lockdown highlighted the need for a trusted video communication tool. Video calls in 2020 are much like messaging in 2013. There are apps that are either secure or usable, but not both. We'd like to fix that, and we will focus on bringing you secure group video calls in 2020.

Telegram also announced today that it has reached 400,000,000 monthly users, up from 300 million a year ago. On average 1.5 million new users sign up for Telegram each day making the app the #1 most downloaded social media application in over 20 countries.
