Sonos Arc Soundbar: Review Roundup [Video]
Posted June 4, 2020 at 3:32pm by iClarified
The long awaited Sonos Arc soundbar with Dolby Atmos support is now available to order.
Here are some of the first reviews...
Engadget:
The Sonos Arc is a much-needed upgrade to the Playbar many of us have been clamoring for. Dolby Atmos support makes the company’s flagship soundbar more immersive -- if you have the TV to accommodate it. The single HDMI jack will be a disappointment to many looking for all the detail and directional audio Atmos offers without having to sacrifice a port or having to upgrade to a more recent TV. Still, Arc works well as both a soundbar and a speaker, and the device will fit in nicely with recent Sonos gear you might already have for a multiroom setup. There’s plenty to love, but at least one more HDMI port would’ve made this a truly outstanding product.
The Verge:
The Sonos Arc is a success from a performance standpoint, but the experience you get will depend heavily on what TV you have. It’s an unfortunate reality of home theater that you’ll have to spend time mucking with your TV’s settings for this $800 soundbar to receive the right audio signal and sound its best. But if you’ve got a TV that supports Atmos over HDMI ARC — and if that TV is in a conventionally shaped room — the Arc delivers immersive sound that will help enhance your favorite movies and TV shows far beyond the lower-priced Beam. It’s the Atmos soundbar to beat if you’re invested in the Sonos ecosystem. And even for those who aren’t yet, the Arc is still easy to recommend as a starting point.
CNET:
The all-in-one soundbar to beat, the sleek and simple-to-set-up Sonos Arc has 11 drivers, a wide soundstage with lots of bass, and support for the Dolby Atmos surround-sound format.
Smart Home Sounds:
Audio Advice:
Tom's Guide:
If you’re a Sonos fan with some money to spend, you won’t find a more satisfying soundbar than the Arc. Its Dolby Atmos support and speech enhancement feature bring the movie theater experience to your living room, plus it looks sleeker than a lot of its competitors.
The Sonos Arc ships on June 10th and can be pre-ordered from the link below for $799.
