Why Google Should Terrify You [Video]

Meet Google. The noun that became a verb. The world's favourite search engine, and the company whose motto is "Don't be evil..."

A recent segment about the search giant on Australian news program The Hungry Beast reveals why people are becoming increasing concerned with the integration of Google into our daily lives.

While this video does paint an overly dark picture; some of Google CEO Eric Schmidts comments should concern you.

Take a look at the video below...

Hahaha so true. So Google has a finger in everything industry, is that bad? Maybe they are just a company that knows how to do business. Some of the privacy issues do make me a little nervous though....

Kinda scary, but then, if you've got nothing ugly to hide, there's no need to get freaked out. Consolidation of services is a good thing. It makes it more convenient for everyone. Ultimately, it's the users who would be final judge. If the consumers see that they're abusing their power, then the consumers would stop supporting them, which would open opportunities to their competition to rise up. Freedom would still rule.

187 patents? Thats nothing. Look up how many patents IBM did last year. Trying to control your access to information is nothing new either, and Google isn't the only company attempting to do it. Apple wants to control your whole digital life too. From the device to the distribution platform. They even want to sell you software and hardware on the content creation side too. From the content consumption side they want to control every aspect of your experience. They will deny any app or platform that threatens that control. Flash, which acts as a gateway to free content all over the world, falls right into this category. Microsoft is yet another example, as are the media conglomerates. Welcome to the modern America, the land of Oligopolies.

HAHA, cmon someone is going to own all this information at one point. Whats the difference? We volunteer our our preferences everyday when we get on our computers. I hope google knows all this about me so they can create a device that suffices all my perfect preferences. Control through fear yet again...
