Google has added a feature to their shopping search results that lets users know if a local retailer has the product in stock.

The new 'In Stock Nearby' feature was demonstrated last December, by Vic Gundotra at Google's Real Time Search Event.

Users searching for a specific product sold by participating retailer, can now look for a blue dot in the search results to see if it's available in a local store. If a blue dot is visible, tap on the adjacent "in stock nearby" link, and you will be directed to the sellers website where you'll see whether the item is "In Stock" or has "Limited Availability" near you. If you have enabled My Location or manually specified your location you will also see how far away the stores are from you.

To access this feature on your mobile, users in the US with an iPhone, Palm WebOS phone, or any Android-powered device, need only to tap on the "more" link at Google.com in their mobile browser and then select "Shopping." Or look for the "Shopping results" section in Universal Search results when you search on Google.com.
