CARROT Weather is a crazy-powerful (and privacy-conscious) weather app that delivers hilariously twisted forecasts.
What's New In This Version:
It’s summertime, meatbags! I’ve been busy setting temperature records all over the world, but I still found time to put together a major update of your favorite weather app.
Film your own TV-news-style Weather Reports to share with friends. Each video is just 30 seconds long, and all you have to do is read off the crazy script I generate for you. (Or switch to "unscripted mode" to improvise!) Just tap the Share button to get started.
In addition to the new Weather Report videos, you can also share screenshots of your forecast (along with my hilarious dialogue). Plus, there are a variety of screenshot styles for you to choose from!
Want to show a more precipitation-focused UI when it’s going to rain? Or promote the extended daily forecast to the top of the screen in the evening? Well, now I can intelligently switch your layouts for you! To set a layout as a Smart Layout, just visit the My Layouts screen. (Premium required.)
Two new layouts join the pantheon: “Neptune” and “Hypnos.” The former makes a great precipitation-focused Smart Layout, while the latter works perfectly as a nighttime Smart Layout. (Premium required.)
New Section Designs
The Current Observation “weather” style now has actual weather effects incorporated into it. Plus: there are new section header, Alerts, and Minutely Forecast styles to choose from as well. (Premium required.)
Air Quality Data
Get air quality data - regardless of your current data source! Enable via the Source screen. (Premium Ultra required if your default data source does not already include air quality data.)
Add the wet-bulb temperature as a data point to the main app, Apple Watch, or Home Screen widget. Great for determining human survivability during extreme heat events. (Premium required.)
Not only did I add a bunch of new achievements for you to hunt down, I also hid three new secret locations on your map.
But wait, there’s more!
- The Current Observations section can now show active weather alert titles.
- The weather alerts screen will now show a list of active alerts if more than one weather alert is active.
- The “next day” summary now focuses more on upcoming changes to weather conditions.
- Added a “compact height” option for the Current Observations section.
- Added a “weather condition” data point for the Current Observations section.
- Added a “next 3 hours” timeframe for cards.
- Improved the feels like temperature calculations for Environment Canada.
Now don’t tell me I didn’t do my part in helping distract you from wondering whether this month’s A/C bill will bankrupt you.
You can download CARROT Weather from the App Store.
