Suppliers in Taiwan are reportedly prioritizing Apple production as the company sees strong pre-orders for the iPhone 13 in China and Taiwan, according to a DigiTimes report.
Taiwan-based makers of VCMs (voice coil motors), wire winding and other components of smartphone-use lens modules are giving priority to production for Apple, amid strong pre-sales of iPhone 13 series in China and Taiwan, according to industry sources.
The site says Samsung's sales in Q3 fell short of expectations and Apple has taken over a large portion of Huawei's market share. Component makers purportedly feel that profitability from Apple's orders will be higher and more stable than from other vendors.
