Google has announced the release of Chrome 100 featuring an updated icon for the web browser. Chrome 100 is available for Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS.
The Chrome team is delighted to announce the promotion of Chrome 100 to the stable channel for Windows, Mac and Linux. Chrome 100 is also promoted to our new extended stable channel for Windows and Mac. This will roll out over the coming days/weeks.
Chrome 100.0.4896.60 contains a number of fixes and improvements -- a list of changes is available in the log. Also, keep an eye out for upcoming Chrome and Chromium blog posts about the release.

Minor nitpick: The fact that many UI designs have evolved from having luster detail to flat one shade color icons makes it all feel like a step back in design (including Apple’s OS even if the color choices make them appealing) that you’d think Chrome would not evolve the icon like this let alone make it barely discernible like it’s previous designs that are suited better in the early 2000s.
