Apple has tweaked the battery percentage icon in iOS 16.1 beta 2 to show fill status when displaying battery percentage.
With the release of iOS 16, Apple added back the ability to show your battery percentage on iPhone. However, enabling this feature meant you lost the visual fill status of the icon. The percentage would show over what appeared to be a full battery.
With iOS 16.1 beta 2 that's changed...

Besides showing the fill level, it appears the font size has been slightly increased.
Well the 16.xxx are usually just refinements and if you remember correctly I believe it was due to the vector mapping when the first released a notch on iPhone it would sit properly in the icon hence the removed it, yes it shouldn’t have taken this long for it to come back but get better late than never. No one is forcing you to buy apples products you want more (less polished in my opinion) features then jump to android and you’ll never look back as for me I’m loving the 14 pro max
It’s not a big deal to just drag down from control center to see the battery amount, which I’ve gotten used to, but hey, it does make sense to bring back what was striped since the notch came along up until the space on top is expanded even more now due to the dynamic island.
