Netflix's New 'Basic With Ads' Plan Not Supported on Apple TV

Netflix's new ad-supported tier launches today, but it's not supported on Apple TV.

The 'Basic with Ads' plan was announced last month for $6.99/month...

Basic with Ads is everything people love about Netflix, at a lower price, with a few ads in-between. Starting in November, signing up will be easy — visit Netflix.com, and register with your email, date of birth, and gender to get started.


Set to go live today, Apple users have discovered that they cannot sign up for the ad-supported plan. A support document confirms this.

To watch Netflix on your Apple TV, you'll need to upgrade your Netflix plan to the Basic, Standard, or Premium plan.

Or, to watch Netflix and stay on your current plan, you'll need to use a different device.
