Apple Stops Signing iOS 16.1 and iOS 16.1.1, Downgrades and Restores No Longer Possible

Apple has stopped signing iOS 16.1 and iOS 16.1.1, preventing users from being able to downgrade or restore to those firmware versions.

Currently, Apple's latest firmware is iOS 16.1.2. If you accidentally update or restore, you'll find yourself on that version. Developers have been seeded with iOS 16.2 RC.

Those interested in jailbreaking are typically advised to stay on the lowest firmware possible. The unc0ver jailbreak and Taurine jailbreak support all devices running iOS 14 - 14.3. Unc0ver has been updated with the Fugu14 untether which supports iOS 14.3 - iOS 14.5.1 and just recently, the Fugu15 jailbreak was released for developers on iOS 15. The Odyssey Team also has plans to release a new 'Cheyote' jailbreak for devices with an A11 - A14 chip, running iOS 15.

Unfortunately, the recent iOS 16.1 jailbreak demonstrated by @qwertyoruiopz at Hexacon will not be released to the public.
