On June 27, 2023, we are ending support for our existing TV apps. That means we will remove the TV apps from the app stores and we will not publish any new releases, security updates, or provide technical support for TV apps.
The company will be ending support for:
● Apple TV
● Android TV
● Amazon Fire TV/Amazon Fire TV Stick
● Roku
Unsurprisingly, the move is upsetting to users who utilize the app to watch screeners and other content on their television. Vimeo suggests that users should now cast videos to their TV via iOS, Android, or web browser.
In a support document, the company says it is ending support for TV apps because they believe casting will give users a 'better ongoing experience'.
