Apple may introduce a new 2TB storage option for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, according to a new rumor from leaker yeux1122.
In a post on Naver, the leaker writes...
It is said that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Max models will have a new 2 tera option this time.
Current storage configuration options for the iPhone 14 Pro/Max are 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It's possible that Apple could choose to drop the 128GB storage option for Pro/Max devices and the 2TB option, making 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB the new choices for buyers.

And they'll still only give you 5GB of Cloud storage space to backup to...

What's the point of having 2TB on a phone? So that you can record 30hrs of 4K videos? But the battery will only last you maybe 2 hrs and it'll be a pain to offload the videos. You better have a good backup strategy too.
I've basically stopped at 512GB unless 8k videos and faster transfer speed become available.

It’s not about simply upping the resolution it’s about bit rate, the iPhones are capable of shooting in Dolby vision which is HUGE that alone is a reason to get a 2TB config

When I mentioned 8K, of course I expect the same overall quality, so naturally the bitrate has to go up too. Besides, even if you shoot at 100Mbps, that's still around 45GB/hr. The phone simply won't last long enough to anywhere close to filling up the storage.

Hopefully it would not cost hundreds of bucks. When SSDs are dirt cheap. (Typo)
