Apple has released a new firmware update for AirTag. Today's firmware version is 2.0.61, up from 2.0.36. The build number is 2A61.
It's unclear what's new in this build; however, it likely contains bug fixes and performance improvements.
Here's the schedule for this release... ● 1% - October 31, 2023 ● 10% - November 7, 2023 ● 25% - November 14, 2023 ● 100% - November 21, 2023
You can check your version number using the Find My app. Switch to the Items tab, choose your AirTag from the list, then tap on the name of your AirTag. If your AirTag needs to be updated, try leaving it next to your iPhone while it's plugged in to charge. You may need to do this overnight.
If you don't already have AirTags, Amazon currently has a four pack on sale for $88.99, down from $99. The tracker makes it easy to locate lost items like luggage, keys, and much more.

Does anyone try the directions given? Once one selects the Name all you get is a list of Actions; Play Sound, Find, Share, Notifications Lost Mode, and Rename. The firmware version isn't listed.

Ask where they might get the info from? Directly from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102183
