Apple CEO Tim Cook has posted a tribute to Berkshire Hathaway's Charlie Munger following his death.
Munger, a renowned investor and vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, passed away at a hospital in Santa Barbara, California, on November 28, 2023, at the age of 99. In a statement following his death, Warren Buffett said, "Berkshire Hathaway could not have been built to its present status without Charlie's inspiration, wisdom and participation."
A titan of business and keen observer of the world around him, Charlie Munger helped build an American institution, and through his wisdom and insights, inspired a generation of leaders. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Charlie.
Notably, Apple is the number one stock in Berkshire's portfolio by market value and was worth over $150 billion at the end of September. It makes up half of the company's total equity portfolio.
