Apple has released Windows Migration Assistant v3.0.0.0 for users running macOS Sonoma 14.4. Migration Assistant transfers (copies) your contacts, calendars, email accounts, and more from your Windows PC to the appropriate places on your Mac.

This software will help you migrate data from a Windows PC running Windows. The Migration Assistant will launch automatically after it has been installed. Your Mac must be running macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later. If you are unable to update your Mac, migrate data from your Windows PC using Windows Migration Assistant v.2.4.5.0.

To use the assistant, make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on. This should be enough to allow Migration Assistant to connect to the other computer. If not, use Wi-Fi or Ethernet to connect your Mac and PC to the same network. Or connect them directly to each other using an Ethernet cable.

Here's how to use the new assistant...

1. Make sure that your Mac is using macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later.

2. On your PC, download and install Windows Migration Assistant 3.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions until you're asked how you want to transfer your information. Select "From a Windows PC," then click Continue:

9. Click Continue to begin the transfer. Large transfers might need hours to complete, and might seem to pause occasionally. You might want to start in the evening and allow migration to complete overnight.

10. When the transfer is complete, quit Migration Assistant on both computers, then log in to the migrated account on your Mac to see its files. The account uses the same name as the account on your PC.

11. Authorize your Mac for Apple ID purchases. It's important to do this before you sync or play content downloaded from Apple.
