Starting in June, Foxconn will ship 24 million units of the Apple iPhone 4G which features an improved display, more memory, and a larger battery, according to Digitimes.
Foxconn will ship 4.5 million units in the first half and 19.5 million units for the rest of 2010. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 4G on June 7, 2010 during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. The new device will adopt IPS (in-plane switching) panels with FFS (fringe-field switching) technology and a 960×640 resolution, Kuo said, noting that LG Display and Prime View International are the panel suppliers.
Digitimes also claims the iPhone 4G will run on the Arm Cortex A8 processor and have a 512MB memory module from Samsung which is double that of the iPhone 4GS.
The iPhone 4G's display panel is said to be 33% thinner to allow for a larger battery module supplied by Simplo Technology and Dynapack International Technology.
I kinda doubt it will be called the iPhone 4G since it will still be using the 3G network. My money is on the iPhone HD.
BTW... I can't wait (Here's hoping it will be released June 7th, though I doubt it!)
I am hoping for iPhone HD too but then again iPhone 3GS doesnt mean it only use 3g(it also use 2g/EDGE). Even though, iPhone 4 will most likely to run on 3G but doesnt mean apple wont put 4G/LTE capable modem inside the iphone. I live in Texas, i see a couple "wanna be phone provider" who now provides 4G service
iphone 4g doesn't mean it uses 4G network. I don't understand why people think that could be the only meaning. Guess what, it's the 4th iphone. 4g most likely would equal 4th generation iphone. (like the ipod touch has a 2g and 3g 2nd and 3rd generation).
But I do agree I think they may go more like HD. Probably iPhone 4HD
Errm, only that the 3g was in fact the 2nd iphone generation.... so it would seem that the naming of the 3g was precisely to emphasise it's 3g network capability, and not a generation reference, and so it follows that the 4th gen won't be called a 4g. HD sounds better anyhow :)
