iPhone Camera App Rumored to Get visionOS-Inspired Redesign in iOS 19 [Video]

Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a visionOS-inspired redesign of the Camera app in iOS 19, according to a new rumor from Jon Prosser.

In a video posted to YouTube today, Prosser showcases a UI for the Camera app that is allegedly based on footage leaked to him by a source.


"What you might notice most is that we're looking at a complete redesign of the Camera app," says Prosser.

On the bottom, everything appears pretty simple. Choose between settings for taking a photo or taking a video. Tap to open the toggle and you're presented with further options like depth for portrait mode control and an option for a spatial capture, panoramic pictures. You can tinker with photo styles, aspect ratios, exposure and a timer. For the video portion, you'll find the same depth and spatial control as well as slow-mo, time-lapse, action and exposure.

Up at the top is an easy and more accessible way to get into specific settings like resolution and frame rate. Other than that, of course, you have your usual tap to open photo gallery on the bottom left, and over on the bottom right, the toggle to flip over to the front-facing camera.

Prosser describes the redesign as one that "perfectly mirrors the design ethos of visionOS" and speculates that Apple could extend this design language to more apps—or even across all of iOS.
