Today the iPad launched in nine countries and international customers lined up in huge numbers to get one of their own.
According to CNN, Apple's flagship store in Tokyo saw about 1,200 people forming a line that stretched some 800 meters before the doors opened.
"I wanted to touch it as soon as possible. I felt real excitement when it was finally in my hands," said Takechiyo Yamanaka, 19, who camped out in front of the Ginza store from Wednesday evening to be the first in line.
The situation was similar in the UK with Apple's flagship store on Regent's Street generating a lineup of over 500 people.
