Microscopic Analysis Reveals 960x640 Resolution for New iPhone?

Superiphone.cz claims to have put a next generation iPhone screen under a microscope to determine its pixel density and display technology.

According to the site, the iPhone 4G will use an IPS panel like the iPad with a 960x640 resolution.

Engadget notes that this would quadruple the total number of pixels when compared to the iPhone 3GS, making rescaling apps fairly easy and allowing Apple to claim the highest pixel density seen on a phone yet.


Apparently there are more pics of the Nexus One and iPod touch panels at the site; however, it seems to be down at the moment.
