Aqara has announced the global launch of its new Doorbell Camera Hub G410, a 2K video doorbell that supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video and also functions as a multi-protocol Matter hub.
The G410 is designed to serve as a central smart home hub, equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and Bluetooth. It can act as a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, and Aqara Zigbee hub, connecting both Aqara devices and over 50 types of third-party Matter-compatible products. This release comes as Apple's own smart home hub reportedly faces delays, creating an opening for third-party solutions.
The new doorbell features a 2K lens with a 175-degree field of view. It uses a millimeter-wave sensor for more accurate presence detection to reduce false alerts and includes on-device facial recognition that can trigger automations without a subscription. A new Advanced Matter Bridging feature also allows facial recognition to be used as an automation trigger in third-party Matter platforms.
For Apple users, the G410 works with Apple Home and HomeKit Secure Video, making it a viable option for those looking for a battery-operated doorbell. It also streams to Alexa and Google Home displays and supports RTSP for local network clients like Home Assistant.
The doorbell offers both cloud and local storage options. A microSD card up to 512 GB can be used, and video can also be backed up to a local NAS. For power, the G410 can be hardwired for continuous recording or run on six AA batteries, which offer up to five months of use.
The Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410 is available now to purchase for $129.99 through Amazon and other authorized retailers.
