Algoriddim has announced a major update for its djay app on Mac and Windows, adding Spotify integration for Premium subscribers. The feature gives DJs and music fans direct access to Spotify's entire music catalog, including personal libraries and curated playlists, from within the popular mixing software.
The update allows Spotify Premium users to log in to djay and immediately browse and mix millions of songs. Tracks can be dragged and dropped onto the app's virtual decks, with intelligent beat-matching used to create seamless transitions across different genres. The integration also supports djay's full suite of tools, including loops and effects.
For users with physical hardware, the software is compatible with more than 100 plug-and-play DJ controllers. The app's Automix feature also works with Spotify, allowing users to set up a continuous, beat-matched mix from any playlist for hands-free playback.
"Bringing Spotify into djay marks a major milestone in our mission to make DJing accessible to everyone," said Karim Morsy, CEO of Algoriddim. "Whether you're a beginner experimenting at home using only your laptop, or a seasoned DJ performing with hardware, you can now tap into Spotify's massive catalog directly in djay and enjoy the music you love in a whole new way."
Algoriddim's djay is available as a free download from the Mac App Store. An optional Pro subscription is available for $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year, which unlocks all professional features across both Mac and Windows and includes a free trial.
