Logitech has introduced the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, a new wireless keyboard that runs on light and never needs a charging cable. It comes in both universal and Mac-specific versions.
Powered by Logitech's Logi LightCharge technology, the keyboard uses sunlight or indoor light to stay charged. On a full charge it can last up to four months in complete darkness, and its built-in battery is rated for up to 10 years. The graphite model also incorporates up to 70% recycled plastic.
The K980 has a slim, full-size layout with a number pad and scissor-switch keys for a laptop-style typing feel. Easy-Switch keys let you move between up to three devices, including Mac, iPad, or iPhone.
Through the Logi Options+ app, users can remap F-keys, set up Smart Actions, and assign the AI Launch Key to apps like ChatGPT. (Note: the Mac-only version does not include the AI Launch Key.)
A business edition is also available with a Logi Bolt USB-C receiver for secure connections and IT management through Logitech Sync.
The Signature Slim Solar+ K980 is available today for $99.99 in universal and macOS versions, and $109.99 for the Business model. The Mac edition is limited to North America.
