Apple Expresses Interest in Acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery [Report]

Apple is among several tech and media giants that have expressed interest in acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery, according to a new report from Bloomberg. The potential move comes as the film and TV giant prepares to launch a strategic review and open its financial books to potential bidders.

Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav reportedly briefed senior executives on Tuesday, informing them that both Apple and Amazon had shown interest in a potential deal. The company expects to begin asking would-be bidders to sign nondisclosure agreements as early as this week, a key step before sharing sensitive financial information.

The interest from Apple comes despite recent comments from services chief Eddy Cue, who downplayed the idea of acquiring a major studio by stating, "We're not actively looking to buy anything." Apple's streaming service was also recently rebranded from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV.


Other companies reportedly in the mix include Netflix and Comcast, who are said to be interested in the company's film and TV library and production assets. Paramount Skydance has already made three offers for Warner Bros., all of which were rejected as too low.

Apple and Amazon both declined to comment on the matter.
