Apple is getting into the holiday spirit with a new lineup of family-friendly programming for its streaming service. The company announced an all-new special, "The First Snow of Fraggle Rock," will premiere on December 5. It is also offering free streaming windows for the beloved Peanuts classics "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas."
The holiday schedule includes the premiere of the action-comedy sequel "The Family Plan 2" on November 21. Apple's record-breaking blockbuster, "F1 The Movie," will also make its global streaming debut on December 12, arriving just in time for the holidays on what is now just called Apple TV.
Viewers can stream "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" for free from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16. The free window for "A Charlie Brown Christmas" will run from Saturday, December 13 to Sunday, December 14.
The holiday cheer begins early this year, kicking off with the premiere of "Shape Island: The Winter Blues" on December 1, followed by "The First Snow of Fraggle Rock" on December 5, and "F1 The Movie" on December 12. Rounding out the season are two festive "Spirited" additions — a brand-new sing-along edition launching December 1 and a behind-the-scenes feature, "The Making of Spirited," which takes viewers inside the musical production.
"The First Snow of Fraggle Rock" finds the Fraggles awaiting the start of the holidays when only a single snowflake arrives and Gobo faces writer's block, sending the crew on an adventure that leads to unexpected inspiration. The special features a cameo by Lele Pons, including a musical performance of "Our Melody" with Gobo, and a storyline at the Gorgs' castle as Junior welcomes a baby sister.
Adding to the lineup is "A Carpool Karaoke Christmas," featuring Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and Chappell Roan singing Christmas classics like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Last Christmas," as well as their hit songs. As a holiday treat, Zane Lowe and Lady Gaga debuted a special version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" on Apple Music and other platforms. Apple is also bringing back "Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special," starring the Queen of Christmas herself alongside guest appearances from Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, and Snoop Dogg.
"The Family Plan 2" picks up with Dan (Mark Wahlberg) planning a perfect overseas holiday for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids, until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) resurfaces with unfinished business — kicking off a cat-and-mouse chase across scenic European locales that mixes bank heists, holiday hijinks, and high-speed action as the family battles, bickers, and bonds.
The holiday programming also includes festive specials that are already streaming, such as the BAFTA-winning "The Velveteen Rabbit," "Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas," the musical comedy "Spirited," and the Academy Award-winning animated film "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse."
Apple is also highlighting holiday-themed episodes from its lineup of original series, including "Frog and Toad: Christmas Eve," "The Snoopy Show: Happiness is the Gift of Giving" Holiday Collection, and "Fraggle Rock: Night of the Lights." Families can enjoy even more seasonal episodes from popular Apple TV series like "Sago Mini Friends: New Year's Steve," "Shape Island: The Winter Blues," "Eva the Owlet: Eva's Moon Wish," "Pretzel and the Puppies: Merry Muttgomery!," "Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show: Jack's Snow Globe Café," "Stillwater: The Way Home," and "Get Rolling With Otis: A Winter's Cow Tale."
For Peanuts fans, Apple is offering additional seasonal favorites now streaming, including "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown," "Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales," and "I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown." Viewers can also revisit the holiday-themed "Interrupting Chicken: A Chicken Carol Holiday Special," which offers a fun twist on classic storytelling.
Apple TV is available on the Apple TV app for $12.99 per month with a seven-day free trial. Customers who purchase a new Apple device can also receive three months of the service for free.
