Steve Jobs has responded to an email from a customer concerned that the Mac might be dead.

Mr. Jobs,
Newsweek just ran an "obituary" for the Mac (see ...) saying the Mac has been "relegated to the steaming dung heap of the past."
I hope he's wrong. I believe and hope that the Mac will remain a vibrant, vital part of Apple's future and one of its (admittedly many) product lines.
So, as you view it, does the MAc have a long and important history ahead of it?

Completely wrong. Just wait.
