Apple has revealed the first look at "Star City," a new space-race thriller that expands the alternate-history universe of "For All Mankind." The eight-episode series is scheduled to premiere globally on Friday, May 29.
Created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, the drama explores the space race from behind the Iron Curtain. The story revisits the timeline's defining moment when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. Rather than following the American perspective, the new series focuses on the hidden lives of the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers working within the Soviet space program.
The cast includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O'Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara. Wolpert and Nedivi act as showrunners and executive producers alongside Moore, Maril Davis, Andrew Chambliss, and Steve Oster. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
