Apple Music subscribers can now listen to full songs directly inside TikTok. A new feature called Play Full Song opens an Apple Music player within the social app, letting users stream complete tracks without leaving TikTok.
When a song catches your attention on the For You page or a sound detail page, tapping the Play Full Song button brings up the player. After the initial track finishes, playback continues with a personalized stream of recommended music. Users can also save discoveries directly to Your Music or add them to an Apple Music playlist for later.
The playback experience is powered by Apple's MusicKit framework. Because playback happens through Apple Music, artists and rights holders are compensated for plays the same way they would be in the standalone app. The feature expands on TikTok's existing "Add to Music App" shortcut, which previously only allowed users to save tracks rather than listen immediately.
The integration arrives shortly after Apple reported record results for its services business last year, which includes Apple Music. It also gives TikTok a new music discovery tool as the company moves forward under its newly finalized U.S. joint venture.
Alongside the in-app player, the companies are also introducing a feature called Listening Party. It creates a shared space where fans can stream songs from their favorite artists in real time, chat with one another, and sometimes interact directly with the artists hosting the session.
Play Full Song and Listening Party are rolling out worldwide over the weeks ahead.
