Apple has shared the first teaser trailer for "Widow's Bay," a new genre-bending horror comedy starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys. The 10-episode series will premiere globally on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The series will debut with its first two episodes, followed by new installments every Wednesday through June 17, including a special two-episode release on May 27. The launch adds to a busy spring lineup for Apple TV, joining other highly anticipated upcoming releases such as the Jon Hamm drama "Your Friends & Neighbors," the star-studded series "Margo's Got Money Troubles," and the Keanu Reeves dark comedy film "Outcome."
Created by Katie Dippold, "Widow's Bay" is set on a remote island located 40 miles off the New England coast. Rhys plays Mayor Tom Loftis, a man trying to revive his struggling community despite limited connectivity and locals who believe the island is cursed. After turning the town into a tourist destination, the long-dormant legends begin to resurface.
The ensemble cast includes Kate O'Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey, with additional appearances from K Callan and Jeff Hiller.
Hailing from Apple Studios, the series is created, showrun, and executive produced by Dippold. Emmy Award-winning director Hiro Murai executive produces through Chum Films and directs five episodes, with additional episodes directed by Ti West, Sam Donovan, and Andrew DeYoung.
