Apple has released the full official trailer for "Cape Fear," providing a deeper look at the upcoming psychological horror thriller starring Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson.
The 10-episode limited series will make its global debut on Friday, June 5, 2026. Apple plans to launch the show with its first two episodes, followed by new installments every Friday through July 31. This footage expands on the initial teaser shared earlier this spring.
Based on John D. MacDonald's novel "The Executioners" and inspired by both the 1962 and 1991 film adaptations, the series follows happily married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden, played by Adams and Wilson. Their lives are upended when notorious killer Max Cady (Bardem) is released from prison and seeks vengeance against the couple responsible for putting him behind bars. The ensemble cast is rounded out by Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, CCH Pounder, Jamie Hector, and Anna Baryshnikov.
Creator Nick Antosca serves as showrunner and executive producer. The project is produced by UCP and Amblin Television, bringing together Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as executive producers. Spielberg previously produced the 1991 feature adaptation that Scorsese directed. Academy Award nominee Morten Tyldum directed the pilot episode.
