Apple TV has picked up "Disavowed," a new action thriller series starring and executive produced by James Marsden. The upcoming show is based on an original idea created by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the writing duo known for their work on "Iron Man" and "Uncharted."
Marsden steps into the role of Brad Griffin, a legendary CIA case officer. The story kicks off when Griffin is abruptly fired in the middle of a global manhunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing a colleague. Stripped of his credentials and outcast from the intelligence community, he decides to personally pursue the $15 million federal bounty on the killer's head.
Hailing from Apple Studios, the project adds to a busy schedule for Marsden on the platform. The actor recently joined the cast of the Jon Hamm drama Your Friends & Neighbors for its second season.
Marcum, Holloway, and Marsden will serve as executive producers on the new series alongside Tom Spezialy. Blue Marble Pictures, the production company behind Apple's acclaimed international drama "Pachinko," is producing the project. Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity will also hold executive producer credits.
