Apple could be moving away from the controversial opaque panel used on last year's clear cases. New images of purported iPhone 18 clear cases suggest a return to a more traditional MagSafe ring design that leaves more of the phone visible.
The photos, circulating on Chinese social media and highlighted by MyDrivers, show cases for the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Last year, Apple's iPhone 17 Pro clear case drew backlash for covering much of the lower rear section with a large white panel designed to accommodate the phone's relocated Apple logo and MagSafe layout.
The newly leaked cases appear to take a different approach. Instead of the opaque panel, they feature a partial MagSafe ring design with a break at the bottom that leaves the center of the case transparent, allowing the Apple logo to remain visible. The camera cutouts also align with the current design language, with the standard iPhone 18 case showing a vertical dual-camera layout while the Pro models retain the wide horizontal camera plateau.
While the accessories appear to be third-party replicas based on rumored dimensions, case makers often begin production early using supply chain information tied to upcoming devices. The images also line up with previous reports that the standard iPhone 18 will retain a similar rear camera arrangement, while the Pro models continue Apple's newer horizontal camera design.
