An unreleased set of Apple over-ear headphones has surfaced in the FCC database. The regulatory filing describes a Bluetooth device carrying the model number A3577.
The device does not appear to be the AirPods Max 2. Apple's premium headphones carry the A3454 model number, suggesting this is a separate piece of hardware entirely.
As usual with Apple's FCC filings, the most revealing documents are locked behind a confidentiality request. Photos, internal teardowns, and user manuals remain unavailable for now. The only visual clue is a basic schematic showing the placement of the FCC ID label. It outlines a generic headphone ear cup but offers no identifying design elements or branding.
Given the recent AirPods Max update, there is a reasonable chance this points to a new Beats product. The brand's current over-ear headphones, the Beats Studio Pro, launched in July 2023 and could be due for a refresh.
Apple and Beats have continued discounting the existing Beats Studio Pro lineup in recent months. Current pricing ranges from $199.95 for the Navy model to $244.99 for the Black version, well below the headphones' original $349.99 retail price.
