Apple is bringing back "After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe" for a third season to cover the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Launching on June 7, the podcast will feature Brendan Hunt, co-creator and actor from the Apple TV series Ted Lasso, alongside Rebecca Lowe, host of NBC Sports' Premier League coverage and cohost of FOX Sports' FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage. The duo will break down key matches and recap major moments throughout the tournament.
Produced by Apple News and presented by Verizon, the series will be available in both audio and video through Apple News, Apple Podcasts, and other podcast platforms. New episodes are set to arrive multiple times a week in the hours following major matches. A trailer is available now on Apple News, Apple Podcasts, and social media.
"We are thrilled to bring After the Whistle back for a third season," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services and Health. "Brendan and Rebecca have an incredible ability to capture the energy and passion of the World Cup."
Apple is also expanding World Cup coverage across its apps and services. Users will be able to follow matches in the Apple Sports app, which recently expanded to 90 additional countries ahead of the tournament. Features include Live Activities, visual lineup formations, detailed game pages, and tournament brackets.
The Apple News app will also offer schedules, scores, analysis, and stories from major publishers, while favorite teams and leagues will sync across Apple News, Apple Sports, and Apple TV.
