Meta is broadening its subscription offerings, announcing the global rollout of premium tiers for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The company is also preparing to test new artificial intelligence and professional plans under a unified banner called Meta One.
The new consumer tiers focus heavily on personalization and advanced social features. Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus are priced at $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus will cost $2.99 monthly. These offerings operate separately from the existing Meta Verified program.
Instagram Plus gives users the ability to spotlight a Story once a week, preview Stories without showing up as a viewer, and create unlimited audience lists beyond the standard Close Friends option. It also allows posting directly to a profile without pushing the content to follower feeds. Additional features include Story rewatch insights, profile customization options, and extra profile pins.
Facebook Plus offers many of the same Story-focused tools, including rewatch insights, Story previews, animated Super Reactions, profile personalization features, and the ability to extend Story availability beyond the standard 24-hour window.
WhatsApp Plus centers on customization, adding app themes, custom ringtones, premium stickers, expanded pinned chats, and list customization features to the messaging platform, building on recent updates like member tags and text stickers.
Meta is also expanding its subscription offerings to include artificial intelligence features. The company plans to test two new AI-focused subscriptions: Meta One Plus for $7.99 a month and Meta One Premium at $19.99 a month. The Premium tier targets heavy users by unlocking additional compute capacity for complex requests, along with expanded image and video generation capabilities and deeper reasoning functionality.
Meta noted that the AI plans will eventually expand to include benefits for users of its smart glasses. Initial testing for the AI tiers begins next month in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia.
For creators and businesses, Meta is testing a $14.99 monthly Meta One Essential plan that bundles verification, impersonation protection, and an enhanced linksheet for directing users to websites and social profiles. A $49.99 Meta One Advanced plan adds promotional tools, including featured placement in Facebook feeds, higher search ranking, automated follow invitations, and the ability to place outbound links directly in Instagram posts and Reels. Testing for these professional tiers begins later this week in select international markets.
